Whale Watching

Between May and October thousands of whales head north to warmer waters. The coast around Hawks Nest is perfect to spot them. Often you will see them breaching and playing.

Not our photo, but this is what we were looking for!

We headed to ‘hole in the wall’ to try and spot some after a tip off that it was a great spot. Hole in the Wall is located in the Myall Lakes National Park (about 20km in) and had awesome views right up and down the coast.

We had no luck, but had a good hour or so looking. We later learnt that an app “Whales NSW” gives up to the minute information on sightings, this will give us the heads up next time we go looking.

In all a good day out, better luck next time!
