Another fun activity is to drive on the beach up to Dark Point.
Of course, the correct vehicle is required, but if you have a 4WD and keen to have a go it is a great day out.

We access the beach at ‘Lemon Tree’ access trail which is located a couple of Km’s into the Myall Lakes National Park. There is room just after the turn to ‘air down’ the tyres and engage 4WD.

The access trail is only short but can be very bumpy. Once on the beach, turn left and enjoy the views!
The beach drive is about 7.5km long and you end up at a beautiful headland, Dark Point. Park here and head over the headland on foot. The bay on the other side is stunning and the awesome spot for a swim or surf.

We encountered a few dingos around Dark Point, but they left us alone, and we left them alone.
The sand dunes behind the bay are great to check out, they are fun for a slide on a sand board or even a piece of cardboard.

A great day out and well worth the effort!
